Swifsash.com Website Goes Live

SwifSash is a Co. Wexford based company that has invented a revolutionary invisible balance system for timber sash windows. With SwifSash you can make traditional sliding sash windows in timber without the need for unsightly springs, cords or chains. The company is called SwifSash and the product is also called SwifSash.

Not only do SwifSash sell this balance system – they also sell a huge catalogue of window and door hardware. They supply this hardware to the trade (e.g joiners).

They needed a modern, fast loading, attractive and functional website to sell their products. Their existing website was dated and didn’t have e-commerce or online catalogue capabilities.

We created a brand new website that presents their products professionally. Products are clearly categorised, under their hardware category and finish making it easy for customers to find the exact product and finish they require. Specifications and measurements are included for products also.

Because of the nature of the business (trade) and bulk discounts, pricing is not displayed on the shop catalogue. Rather it is agreed between both parties and then the team at Swifsash generate an invoice for the customer who pays it on the website using PayPal or Stripe.

Sell My Website Platform Goes Live

Setting up a successful online business is hard work. There are a lot of pitfalls and steep learning curves involved. Imagine then that you have managed to set up a successful online business but then you reach the age of retirement and your family don’t want to take it over – what do you do.

This was the predicament of a Wicklow couple who discovered that there was no platform available for them to sell their online store. They saw a gap in the market and the concept of Sell My Website was born.

Sell My Website is an online platform that takes the form of a classified ads system. People wishing to sell their website or online business can logon, create an add, upload screenshots, describe the business and the technical aspects of their website (CMS platform, e-commerce platform etc.). Visitors interested in buying an online business can then browse through the catalogue of websites for sale and interact with the seller through online chat or email.

Those in the market for an online business can create an ad too of course. So if you’re looking for a website to do specific tasks – sellers can browse those ads too and make contact. As with any classified ads system, the posters of the ad can upgrade their ad (set as featured, bump up, always on top etc.) to promote it’s standing on the platform.

Freedom-Scooters.ie Website Goes Live

Freedom Scooters is a business based in Riverchapel Co. Wexford specialising in the sale of mobility scooters and accessories.

They were in the market for a fully functional e-commerce website, built to the highest of standards, easy to use and easy to manage. Their product catalogue is quite small in total but the value of their average sale is quite high. With that in mind, their customers needed to have complete confidence and be informed before committing to a sale and we used some techniques in this regard. For example we defined attributes for each of their mobility scooters (number of wheels, storage options, colours available etc.) and implemented a comparison function across the products for these attributes so that customers can see at a glance what the differences are. This is a very useful tool to help customers make a choice on an expensive item.

We also implemented Humm payment options onto the online shop. Humm is a well known online credit facility that allows customers spread the cost of their purchase over time. Ideal for more expensive online purchases.

Overall it was a great project to work on and we were delighted to launch the site earlier this month.

Hedging.ie Website Goes Live

Hedging.ie is a hedging and trees company based in Carnew Co. Wicklow. They’ve been in business for years running their online shop on WooCommerce.

For various reasons such as site performance, usability & design amongst others, they decided to upgrade their site during the summer of 2022. This was a significant undertaking as the old site was quite large and they had invested a lot of money on search engine optimiastion (SEO) over the years.

We built a brand new WordPress / WooCommerce online store from the ground up for them. The old site was quite bloated with outdated and unnecessary plugins so we rationalised all of this. We brought across all customers, orders, products & images to the new site meaning that customer accounts and preferences were kept. We also carried out a lot of work on site performance and increased page speed loading times significantly. A challenging but rewarding project and delighted to have successfully launched in the last month.

Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool Website Goes Live

Ballinakill is based in Co. Laois and the community there have run an outdoor swimming pool for years. The venture has been very successful and up until this year, all bookings were handled manually over the phone or WhatsApp. As visitor/member numbers and complexity increased, it became more time consuming, error-prone and unworkable.

They required a more automated solution that would enforce their capacity thresholds, whilst being easy to use and informative. We introduced smart coupons – that were emailed to each member after they had successfully signed up for a season ticket. This can be used by the member at checkout to complete their booking without paying.

The system is easy to use by the members, and the administrators who can easily manage bookings. We implemented a booking export tool also which allows them to easily export bookings from the system into CSV format which allows them to easily check in members and guests as they arrive.

The system will email members and guests to confirm their bookings, and will send out automated emails to remind them of their upcoming sessions. It also allows for easy rescheduling and cancelling.

All in all a much more efficient system for the folks running the pool bookings.

Wexford ‘.IE’ Domain Registrations On The Rise

According to the latest report from .IE, Ireland’s country domain manager, Co. Wexford based businesses, organisations, clubs and individuals registered 1,678 .ie domains in 2021. This is a whopping 32% increase on pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Two of the most frequently used keywords for domain registration were ‘cleaning’ and ‘roofing’. On a wider level, 36,875 new .ie domains were registered in Leinster and 57,530 nationwide.

Government lockdown policies in 2021 and business adaptation are the chief drivers for this increase according to David Curtin – chief executive of .IE.

“Businesses in Wexford and across Ireland are investing in new websites, integrating e-commerce technology, and making use of productivity-enhancing tools all year round because they now recognise the huge role they play in profitability and customer acquisition,”

Cybersecurity was also mentioned in the report and it states that 54% of all .ie websites are secured with SSL / TLS.

Mr Curtin acknowledged that this figure was “encouraging” but stressed the importance for .ie domain holders to do as much as possible to protect their site visitors from cyberattacks.

“We urge all businesses in Wexford to review their cybersecurity in 2022.”
