On Tuesday (August 11th), WordPress 5.5 was released. This release is called Adderley after American singer Billy Eckstine. Improved speed, enhanced search and security seem to be the major enhancements in this release.
Again the block editor has been improved with inline image editing among the main enhancements.
As with any WordPress upgrade (major or minor), the main benefit people will see will be hidden and that will be improved security and that’s why it’s critical to stay up to date with your releases.
So what do you need to do? Well if you’re a ClearSoft client with a WordPress site you don’t need to do anything. Your installation will automatically have been upgraded to WordPress 5.4 over the last day or 2 and you can reap the benefits straight away.
